New Freedom Farm is a non-profit organization that helps veterans through the training and interaction of working with horses. Located in beautiful Buchanan Virginia, New Freedom Farm focuses on veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, and other conditions. Interacting with equines, farming, and peer-to-peer support offers veterans a means to heal invisible wounds and find new life in the Appalachian mountains.
New Freedom Farm fostered many deep friendships and helped first responders and veterans recover their mental, physical, and spiritual health.
Citizens is proud to employ, Tera, one of their many volunteers who helps keep up the farm, works with the horses, and sets up to host events that directly impact the lives of our veterans who have already sacrificed so much.
