What is your favorite thing to do on your off time?

Spending time with my daughter.

What is a little known fact about you?

I was in musicals, plays, and talent shows in high school and enjoyed being on stage. Most people see me as a quiet person and are surprised to learn that about me. More recently, I have helped provide some of the entertainment at our company holiday dinners as June Carter Cash and Dolly Parton.

What type of music do you like?

I listen to various types of music. I have been playing the ukulele for a little over a year now, and I’m always listening for the next song I want to learn how to play. I also enjoy rewriting song lyrics.

What is the secret to a good life?

Be thankful for each day God gives you. A positive mindset can help you overcome anything you may experience.

Tell us about a pet peeve you have.

When people tell you they will do something and never follow through on their word.

What do you remember most about your first job?

I worked as a dietary aide in the kitchen at a nursing home when I was a teenager. One day I dropped a large container of applesauce and it went all over me and everything else… the floor, tables, appliances, even the ceiling! My coworker and I cleaned it all up which included mopping the ceiling.

What makes you feel most alive?

Being a mother to my daughter and watching her learn and grow. She has Down syndrome and Autism. She and I have been going to various therapy appointments every week for her whole life. She has to work hard for things that come naturally to most people. But when she achieves a skill, the accomplishment is so much sweeter! I have learned to appreciate the small things; they are what truly matter the most.
